What We Do

Home Visits

Across Chesapeake and the Southside of Hampton Roads, Vincentians respond to calls from neighbors in need.  Often within a day or two, we are visiting with those  who need assistance to help and find solutions. We are so blessed to be able to share the Catholic faith! The home visit is the core of our work.

Relationship Building

After the home visit, our Vincentians continue to help our neighbors in need. Follow up phone calls, referrals and prayer all let our friends know they are not alone and that Vincentians are there to serve in hope.

Youth Conference

Middle and high school students praying, striving to live the Gospel,  and learning about Vincentian spirituality……our youth are developing their servant leadership through projects and advocacy for those in need.

Food Pantries and Community Resources

Our Conference works with other food pantries and community services to provide food, furniture,  and aid to those in need. Holiday food basket-giving is a long-standing tradition at St. Benedict’s even before the formation of our SVdP Conference.

Blood Drives

SVdP St. Benedict’s Conference partners with the American Red Cross to organize at least four blood drives per year. There continues to be critical need for blood, so we encourage Vincentians and parishioners to help those in medical need.

Vincent’s Furniture Shop

Neighbors in need often seek help in procuring furniture, specifically sofas, dressers, bed frames, and kitchen tables with chairs. Our Conference acquires furniture from generous donors and delivers needed pieces to individuals and families.
